Gang Indexing
Gang indexing brings an extra level of safety and efficiency to the parallel parlor allowing milkers to start the milk routine as soon as the first gang is loaded. Cows are positioned so the milker does not need to reach over the milking platform.

For more than 70 years, the Johnsons have been milking cows at Highland Dairy in Glade Spring, Virginia. Third-generation dairywoman, Rena Johnson runs the farm now and recently decided to upgrade the dairy so she could milk cows for decades to come.

Morning Star Dairy in Onalaska, Wisconsin is owned by John and Barb Schaller. With the DeLaval parlor milking system P500, John says the cows are getting in and out faster and they are safely getting more milk per cow compared to previous years. Morning Star Dairy uses DeLaval Activity Meters to optimize performance on the dairy. They also use DeLaval teat dips, DeLaval liners and DeLaval acid detergents.
